Drawdown calculator

Prop firm accounts may be simulated, and fees may not be refundable; check each firm's terms. Nothing here is financial advice. Risk disclaimer

Enter a starting balance, a drawdown amount and your daily balances to see the failure level on each day and the first day it would be reached. The calculator uses only the numbers you enter and contains no firm data.

Each firm calculates drawdown in its own way, for example whether open profit counts or when the level stops trailing. Read the firm's official rules. This calculator is an illustration, not a prediction or a guarantee of any result.

Write each day as: end-of-day balance, then optionally the intraday high and intraday low, separated by spaces. Example: 50600 50800 49900. Without a low, the end-of-day balance is used to check the level.

The values filled in above are a hypothetical example, the same one used in our drawdown guide.

How the calculator works

  • Static: the failure level is the starting balance minus the drawdown amount, on every day.
  • Trailing, end of day: the level is the highest end-of-day balance so far (or the starting balance, if higher) minus the drawdown amount. It moves only after a day closes.
  • Trailing, intraday: the level is the highest balance reached so far, including each day's intraday high, minus the drawdown amount. The calculator assumes each day's high came before its low, which is the stricter case.
  • Stop trailing: when ticked, a trailing level never rises above the starting balance.
  • A day counts as reaching the level when its lowest balance is at or below the level. Some firms only fail an account below the level; check the firm's rules.

For the concepts behind each method, read trailing vs end-of-day vs static drawdown.
