Simulated and evaluation accounts. Evaluations, and at some firms the "funded" stage, may use simulated (demo) accounts; check each firm's terms. Trades in a simulated account are not placed in the live market and do not use real capital. Any payout from a simulated account is paid by the firm under its own terms, not earned from trading real money, and the firm may be able to change or end those terms.
Live funded accounts. A firm may state that it moves certain traders to an account trading the firm's own capital in the live market. Whether, when and on what terms that happens is set by each firm. Do not assume you will ever trade real capital unless the firm's official terms say so for your account.
Costs and outcomes. Evaluation fees may not be refundable; check each firm's terms. Passing an evaluation is not guaranteed, and passing does not guarantee a funded account or any payout. Trading futures, forex and other leveraged products in your own live account carries a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone.
